Artist Statement

This work I do is a collaboration between the medium, wood and me, the wood cutter. When we work together there's a back and forth of suggestions on how the final form will evolve. The definitiveness that I seek in my life is absent when working in this way, and I embrace that in this process. Surprises, good and bad, are welcome. It is how I learn more about what I do and why I do it.
